"Mommy & Me" tree in Kennesaw

(front view)

(the Christmas tree lot)

Our downtown district has a Christmas tree decorating contest every year, and this time I decided to sponsor my moms' group. We didn't have a lot of participation, but the ornaments that did come in are beautiful. Plus, Sam is so crafty that he really enjoyed the whole process!

Sam's Christmas Tree

This year, Sam has his very own tree to decorate in his playroom! With the exception of the lights, he is doing it all, and he is very proud. I think he's done a great job for a 3-year old!

(And, I hope you enjoy his rendition of "Rudolf".)

Ruby Falls

This weekend we went to Ruby Falls. It's located on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee, over 1,120 feet beneath the surface, and is the nation’s largest and deepest waterfall open to the public. Hundreds of gallons of water rush over by the minute and experts have yet to find the source.

The walk down was amazing, with numerous stalactites and stalagmites along the way.

North Pole Limited

We took Sam on the "North Pole Limited" at the Tennessee Valley Railroad. It is a "real" train station and we were able to ride to the North Pole, sing Christmas carols, have milk and cookies and meet Santa! It was really special, with lights and decorations along the way.

P.S. Sam took the pic of Neil and I. He did a great job for a 3 year old!!

Creative Discovery Museum

We went to Chattanooga for a couple days and visited Creative Discovery Museum. It was amazing. Sam climbed up to a crow’s nest, dug for dinosaur bones, sprayed jets of water to spin whirligigs, played musical instruments, found his way through a maze, scaled a rock wall, built a motorized car, made a craft and played on the roof!

There was just so much for him to do, and of course Neil and I enjoyed ourselves!!

Happy Turkey Day!!

My little (silly) Pilgrim. (He made the hat at school and was most proud! Can you tell?)

Getting ready for a yummy Thanksgiving meal. He's not a big eater, but I made up for it by eating enough for both of us!

Coolest cat!!

Our cat, Abby, is so sweet and easygoing. Today I bought her a little pink "shirt". I easily dressed her and she wore it without issue. It matches her pink rhinestone collar from Disney World.

Isn't she a real beauty???

Fun in the Fall

Sam and I are still making ornaments for the "Mommy and Me" Christmas tree in Kennesaw. Today it's designer pine cones! (I'm running out of ideas!!)

The weather is perfect, so we plan to spend a lot of time outside.

Hair do or don't?

Sam asked me out of the blue if I would "do" his hair, and when I asked what he meant, he said, "Ummm...put some little snappy things or curlers or something in it." Well, I'm not sure which is worse..."little snappy things" or curlers, but I chose the latter.

Look at that little face! How could I say no?

Let sleeping children lie!

I have taken so many pics of Sam sleeping, but still he is soooo sweet when he's snoring away in his bed. I just couldn't resist another. And, yes, that is his Bible he's holding. It's what he cuddles at night!

(He's got a stuffy nose, so he actually offered to take a nap. How sweet is that???)

Miniature Golf

It was such a nice afternoon that we decided to head over to Mountasia and play miniature golf. Sam played very well, and even offered me some advice...,"Keep practicing, Mom, and eventually you'll get the hang of it."

He wore a babseball cap, just like his daddy!

And, you are?

Sam loves playing dress-up these days. So, when I took some clothes out of the dryer this morning he took full advantage!

I'm not sure why he chose only the undergarments, though!

Crisp Fall Day

The weather is amazing, though it did get down to 28 degrees last night! Still, it feels great in the sun and Sam and I spent the afternoon playing in the backyard. (He said that he needed to practice his "soccer kicks" for the Spring!)

We saw our "pet" lizard. He was in the house last week, and we've seen him out and about several times since. He isn't really afraid of us, so I decided to take his picture for the family album!

11/7/07

I am Buzz Lightyear!

Sam loves Buzz and likes to dress up like him just before bed. Of course, that means a lot of "To infinity and beyond!"

11/5/07

21 weeks and counting!

Our little boy is moving up a storm these days! Both of the cats like to lay on my belly and feel his crazy movements.

Bowling Party Fun

We were invited to a bowling party at good ol' Marietta Lanes. Neil and Sam bowled 5 games! I ate a lot of pizza. That means everyone left happy!!

Paint me a picture

To everyone else this probably looks like a 3-year old's watercolor, but I really love it. Sam loves doing anything "artsy", which he gets from me. I guess that explains why I was so happy when he brought it home!
