Pumpkins, petting zoo and party food...

Sam's school had their harvest event, and Luke & I were able to join in on the fun! All the kids got to pick out a small pumpkin to bring home, then they headed over to the petting zoo. They were able to feed a camel (yes...a camel), a kangaroo (yes...a kangaroo), miniature horses, bunnies, etc.

We headed back inside for some yummy food and a little entertainment, which included the kids singing their silly alphabet songs.

...give me something good to eat!

We went Trunk 'R Treating with the boys at a local church. For those not familiar with it, people decorate the trunk of their car and hand out candy. (Go HERE for even more info.) It was a lot of fun seeing all of the crazy decorations, while enjoying this cool weather we have.

Sam and Luke wore old costumes. In fact, Luke's fireman costume was what Sam wore his very first Halloween!

Mama's night out!

Our church has an annual Men's cook out/camp out and Neil planned to take Sam and Luke this year. It's always a great event, but we finally got that much-needed rain so it was canceled.

I had already made plans with some of my girlfriends to go out to a great local Mexican restaurant, though. (We had a great time!)

Thankful Thursday!!

I am so very thankful for my parents and they just celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary! (Yes...forty-eighth!)

Wordless Wednesday

(Sam surprised me with his name, made out of pipe cleaners. I thought it was great considering he just learned to write his name 2 months ago in Pre-K!)

Fall Fun

Our neighbors and friends had a party for their baby girl's 1st birthday. The celebration took place in one of our neighborhood playgrounds, and it was a typical Fall afternoon...
Sam and I wore our newly-crafted Halloween shirts! (It was easy thanks to FamilyFun.)

Pumpkin Fest

Our neighborhood had its annual Pumpkin Fest this weekend. We have our own Boy Scout troop that uses it as a fundraiser, plus a lot of local companies (and friends) set up booths, games, bouncies, etc. The weather was just perfect and we all had a great time!

The shirts that Sam and Luke wore were souvenirs from our recent trip, though I got them at a Walmart in New Hampshire! (You know how I love a bargain!!)

P.S. THANK YOU to Dawn for turning me onto Scrapblog! That's where I created this fun pic.

Another year older...

Yesterday was Neil's birthday. He was in Canada all week, but made it home just in time for dinner. Sam was so excited about the "party" we were going to have once Daddy got home.

We made pizza for dinner. Then, followed that with Munchkins from Dunkin' Donuts!

Sam wrapped the presents and decorated the envelopes. His writing has really improved over the last 2 months. (He's still only 4 years old!)

Both boys helped unwrap the presents!

Luke tried to dispose of the paper on his own.

I'm on a winning streak!

My super sweet blogging buddy, Dawn, gave me this really cute award. (Don't you just love her new layout???) Now, here's the deal. I have to name six things that make me happy and then pass the award along. Here goes...

The men in my home make me unbelievably happy. There are no people I would rather laugh with, learn from or grow old with. And, I truly consider myself blessed to be a part of this family! (Pssst...today is Neil's birthday!)

Without a doubt, my favorite place to be is the beach! In particular I love the Gulf, as we can be there in less than 6 hours, it has gorgeous soft sand and it's as warm as a bath all summer.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I really love getting a bargain. It's amazing even to me, some of the great things I have found for just pennies. And, for the record, I do think that sign tells the greatest bargain ever!!

Ghirardelli Chocolate...need I say more?!?

If I need a "break", 99% of the time I get on the computer. I love to search for completely irrelevant stuff and feel like I have learned a ton since Al Gore invented the internet. (Sorry...we like to joke about that a lot.) Not to mention, this blog. I've had so much fun writing, posting pics and making friends!

I love to be outside, but I never imagined that I would enjoy gardening as much as I do. I am definitely still learning, but so far, all of my flowers have brought me such joy. This is a pic of a couple blooms off my dahlia. It is just full this year!

I have many, many more things that make me happy, including: my cats, my faith, any type of pampering, a perfectly chilled glass of wine, Fall weather, Patricia Sprinkle books...I could go on and on.

Lastly, I believe that anyone putting time into a blog deserves an award. Therefore, consider yourself "awarded". I can't wait to see what makes YOU happy!

What is this thing you call Moon Sand???

We went to a my-moms-side-of-the-family gathering yesterday after church. It was such a beautiful day, weather-wise. And, it was our first time to show Luke off to that side of the family. (He was his normal sweet and charming self!) Plus, we had some really, really good food. Can't beat it with a stick....as we say down in the south!

Luke received a couple great gifts, and Sam received some Moon Sand. Now, as most of you know, we don't do TV so our knowledge of Moon Sand is a bit limited. However, we figured it out pretty quickly and Sam just had to take a pic of his "castle". It even has a "drop-down-door". I think he did a great job for a 4-year old Moon Sand-novice!

Friday "Photo Contest" Flashback

Okay...so I am doubling up today. My Friday Flashback is a pic of my sweet sleeping angel, Sam, when he was about 3 years old. I am using it to enter a great contest over at 5 Minutes for Mom. They are giving away a child's bedroom set and I would really love to win the "Summer Breeze" collection because it has a ton of drawers! Can you really ever have too many of those???

The deadline is October 13th, so you still have time to enter, too!

Toothy Tuesday

Luke has 2 little teeth now and they are just so cute, but I could never seem to get a pic that showed them....until today! In the process of trying to capture his elusive chompers, I got several sweet shots, so I'm posting them all.

(Click on the last pic and look for the white!)
