A Thousand Words Thursday

As a tot, is there really anything better than brand new sand in the turtle? In fact, I think I was just as excited at age 25....er, I mean 35! That cool, clean feeling....some things are just so fun to share with your kids.

Know what I mean?

Weekend Wrap-Up

The weather was absolutely wonderful here in the A-T-L, and we took full advantage of it, for sure!

Sam had his first soccer game of the season. He ran, kicked and blocked his little heart out. And, Luke enjoyed every minute of it! (If that looks like a tear on Luke's face, consider that pollen is already in the "high" zone for much of Georgia.)

We also went to one of our favorite, annual events in Kennesaw...Touch-A-Truck. It seems like it just gets better every year. The boys were able to check out so many cool trucks this year, plus Sam jumped in some bouncies and we all ate hot dogs.

And, finally, Sunday marked our last day with Daddy during his "hiatus".

After 14 years at the same company, Neil has moved on to a competitor. We prayed about it a lot over the last few months, but both came to a point of real peace, even though neither of us are risk-takers.

It was so great being all together for the last 10 days and we pray that Daddy has a fantastic first day at his new company!

We love you tons!!!

A Thousand Words Thursday

This is a pic of a cool sign at our new science museum. I took it specifically for my friend Ellyn. Her sweet baby, Seth, is just a few months younger than Luke and is profoundly deaf. (He is a TOTAL heart breaker, just the same!) Anyways, when I read this sign, the whole "hearing process" was just amazing to me. Click on it to enlarge, if needed!

I really do encourage you to visit Ellyn's blog, as she is 100% awesome! Plus, she is giving away a really, really cool prize package on March 28th, in honor of Seth and his big brother, Eli.

There's gonna be a BIG winner!!

I "met" the most amazing gal in blog-land a couple months ago. Her name is Ellyn and she has the blog, Profoundly Seth. I really adore El and her beautiful family, so I wanted to take a moment and focus on this absolutely amazing "raffle" that she's doing for her sweet Seth. (The proceeds actually benefit Seth, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and Rhyan's Hope.) You get one entry for every $10 that you pledge, so feel free to give some of your tax refund...PLUS, spread the word! And, all of this is in honor of precious Eli's 2nd birthday on March 28th.

This is Seth!

I really hope that you will take a moment and read El's blog. She has been through a lot and still has amazing faith in God. If I wasn't, like, 10 years older than her, I would want to be just like her when I grow up! She's a true inspiration. And, I have no doubt that if we lived closer, Luke and Seth would be great friends!

This sweet boy is 1 year old now! Goodness, I love him. I love Sam equally, but different. And, I think that's cool b/c they are so totally different.

Know what I mean?

Still more cake...and a contest winner!

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a party!

Luke had a ball playing with all of the kids, swinging and sliding...oh, and he had even more fun with his birthday cake this time around. I know some of you will think that we just smashed it into his face, but believe me, he did all that on his own. It was a lot fun just watching him make a mess!

And, Sam picked the winner in my blog giveaway. Congratulations Toni!!

A Thousand Words Thursday

Tomorrow Luke turns 1-year old! This picture was taken when he was only 1-hour old. It's so hard for me to believe that an entire year has gone by, but oh, what a year it has been!! He is so fun and cute, and he has already learned so much. It really has been such a blessing.

Science is fun!

We have a new science museum near us that we finally explored. It's called Tellus and it's only about a 20 minute drive from us AND it has it's own parking lot. (Anyone familiar with Atlanta knows why I am mentioning the parking!) Well, I have to say, it really is GREAT! All of us enjoyed it, even Luke...and I am contemplating a membership so we can go whenever/as often as we want.

The permanent exhibits include: The Fossil Gallery, The Mineral Gallery, Science in Motion, and the Planetarium...plus, there's a fossil dig, gem panning and "The Big Backyard", which has a million interactive things for kids. We all had a ton of fun, and Sam even enjoyed learning about things that I would have never imagined!

P.S. If you haven't entered my blog giveaway, click here!
