A Thousand Words Thursday

I mentioned last that Sam is really funny, and here is another example. Like any young child, he loves to play hide and seek. He's a great "hider", and as you can see from this pic, very creative.

I just had to grab my camera!

A Thousand Words Thursday

Sam has always had the best sense of humor. I mean, he's very funny...and he knows it, for sure.

In the past couple of months, we've seen Luke's personality really develop. Luckily, it seems that he will be funny, too. He already makes the silliest, scrunched up face. It always cracks me up!

Well, wouldn't you know it. A pic of Sam came up on my screen saver last night and he was making the exact same face. (He was about 18-months old.) I haven't been able to capture Luke's on film yet, but this is exactly what it looks like...

And, yes. He gets that tan in the summer!

Wordless Wednesday

Wrapped up with a pretty bow!

We had an exciting weekend, and I say "exciting" because all of our weekends are busy. This one was EXCITING, though! (And, I have A LOT of pics to prove it!)

Friday night, we were invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the brand new Special Needs ball field at one of our local parks. This was something that Neil and I supported from day 1, so it was so great to see the final product! The field is made especially for any Special Needs children, from wheelchair-bound to autistic. And, we even witnessed the inaugural game! Very cool.

Saturday, we planted our summer garden. I know it doesn't look like much but the veggies we Sam loves grow big and/or viney.

I'll take another pic in a couple months to show the progress.

Saturday night was the semi-annual Family Camp Out in our neighborhood. Neil and Sam always attend, and this year I took Luke down for a little while. It was amazing weather so there was a great turnout...around 25 families, and Sam had a ball. (I'm sure Neil enjoyed his beer-by-the-fire-with-friends, too.) Luke and I headed home before bedtime, but I'm thinking that next year would be a great time to introduce him to the air mattress!

And, finally...we have a new pet. Okay. It's really more like an experiment with fur.

I promised Sam (last year) that we would "keep" a caterpillar so he could see it change into a moth, and since we have cherry trees, the tent caterpillars are plentiful. All-in-all, he probably has a much better life in our aquarium b/c many neighbors consider his kind a pest right now.

We named him JJ (John Joseph was Sam's idea?!?). Check him out, pre-wings!

A Thousand Words Thursday

This is actually a series of photos, but I love them, and affectionately call them "The Pant-less Bandit". It all started when my (mild-mannered) Luke refused to let me put his pants back on after a diaper change.

Like any good mom, I gave up that battle...and grabbed my camera!

1. "Stay back or I will attempt to hurt you with this pretend Home Depot tool."

2. "That goes for anyone in the foyer, too!"

3. "Huh....me? No. I was just trying to blend into this wall."

4. "Is the place surrounded? Ahhhh...MOM!"

5. "Oh, yeah...I see my escape route. But...I...will be back!"

It was a beautiful day...

Sam and Luke were able to join in on a big egg hunt with our extended family. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time.

Luke is Luke, so even though he didn't "get it", he had a ton of fun.

Sam was stylin', with his tie. And, yes...he wore it the entire time!
He is so good about stuff like that.

Ashley, my niece. She's the one graduating from college.

Easter cookies, decorations and egg hunting

My parents picked up these adorable cookies at a local bakery. They are so cute and yummy. And, at only $4 per bag, I thought them a great deal!

We brought out our Easter "decorations" last week, and I specifically made the hearth Luke-friendly so that I wouldn't be saying NO all the time.

Apparently, he didn't like my little set-up, though.

And, today was our neighborhood "Eggstravaganza". It's always a fun event, and the weather perked up just in time. Sam gathered many eggs, plus he visited with some great animals in the petting zoo. There were also inflatables and pony-rides.
