A Thousand Words Thursday

I was thinking about how much Luke has changed since last summer, and it made me want to look back at his "baby" photos.

My hubby snapped this one just about 1 year ago.

He has grown so big and learned so much....but we still take baths together!

I Heart Faces

This week, I Faces is doing something a bit different. The theme is silhouettes.

I don't have many to choose from, and since there is a shortage of sun these days in Georgia, this is the best I can offer. Still, I have always liked this capture from the Georgia Aquarium...

A Thousand Words Thursday

I'm sure that many of you followed sweet little Kayleigh and are aware that she went to be with Jesus on May 11th. Sam and I started following her in November and we loved every minute of it. He would often ask, "Momma, can we see if there are new pictures of Kayleigh?"

I had something to send to her family last week and so he included this sweet drawing, which he called "Kayleigh With Wings". (Not bad for a 5-year old, huh?!?)

We also participated in a balloon release. We attached a tag to the balloons with all of Kayleigh's information in hopes of introducing someone else to the 1 pound blessing.

After the balloons were completely out of sight, Sam said with a big smile, "I think they are in Florida now."

We miss you, Kayleigh!

I Heart Faces

I finally decided to start participating in I ♥ Faces and this weeks theme is "My Favorite Face Photo". It's a bonus week, too, because all of the winning photos will be published in the upcoming Blurb Book.

It was hard for me to pick just one photo, but this one has always been a favorite. Sam was about 20 months old. I just love him in a hat, and well, his eyes are so big and dark. Oh, and this was captured before his curls.

Yep...I love this one!

You can check out more participants (or get in on the fun) by visiting
I ♥ Faces.

"I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb Book photo contest. I am granting I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites."

Sprinkles of fun!

I bought Sam this little alligator sprinkler at Dollar Tree about 4 years ago. It still works great, and since Friday was really warm, we thought we would introduce it to Luke. He was very apprehensive...at first.

Sam finally convinced him to come towards the crazy shooting water, only to get a face full of the cold stuff. He retreated under the grill and cried, but not for long.

And, yes. Luke is wearing a "swim diaper" with a "muscle shirt" and Crocs. (We are that redneck!)

A Thousand Words Thursday

My niece, Ashley, graduates from college today at 2PM. I took her "cap & gown" photos, and these are a few of my favorites...

Hard to believe she is old enough to have a degree. Harder to believe that I'm old enough for her to have a degree!

Happy Mother's Day!!

It's been a most wonderful day! Woke to much fanfare, went to church, loved on a bunch of friends, had a fantastic lunch with my men, planted some more flowers (not lilies!), visited Home Depot, blogged...and now I will nurse, read and then read some more! Can't beat that kind of day!!

I certainly hope YOU had a beautiful day, as well. Happy Mother's Day!

My loving little men...

The Graduate

Sam graduated from Pre-K this week. (I know. I know.) He was so excited and really enjoyed the ceremony. It was bittersweet for me, though. I just can't believe that he will go to Kindergarten in August. At a real school. With a cafeteria and buses. Wow!

Here are a few cute pics from the special night...
