This FF isn't long b/c I've been really busy with Luke the past two days.

He has pneumonia!

Poor little guy wasn't even sick, and all of a sudden had some crazy symptoms. My gut told me that something wasn't right so we took him right over to his doctor. After a finger-stick, then full blood work and chest x-rays, we learned the truth. After all of that, he had to get a shot. It was pitiful, but he seems to be feeling better.

The model shoot contest is on, so if you want to vote for him (or any of the other cuties), look above this post.

We got a special surprise at Noelle's birthday party last Sunday. A friend snapped this family photo. We have so few, that I was super excited to see it. And, yes. I changed my hair.

Today is my first big day since on the PTA since deciding to chair a committee. It's Spirit Day, so all of the kids are supposed to wear school t-shirts or shirts with the school colors of red, white and blue.

Classes with full participation, get a special prize, which I get to deliver. My good friend Beth is helping me out, so it should be a lot of fun.

Our garden has done very well this year, but my favorites have been the peppers. We've had quite a few to enjoy, plus we finally had a red bell pepper!

Isn't it a beauty?

This is not a great photo... but it is a sweet capture.
100% smiles. No words needed.

I HEART FACES

The theme at IFaces this week is Nostalgia.

Nostalgia is described by Merriam-Webster as...a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period.

At first, I had trouble finding a photo that showed "nostalgia", but then I remembered the sprinkler shoot from late June.
Sprinklers were so huge to me as a tot, plus Sam is wearing his Ninja Turtle trunks. Need I say more?

It's ragweed season in GA, so we are all sneezing. Still, it's been another eventful week!

So, are you watching "There Goes the Neighborhood" on CBS?

It was filmed in my neighborhood back in June. We are friends with The Bussiere Family, and they are still in the running. Tune in this Sunday for episode #3 or you can watch it on the CBS.com website. That's what we do! Every Tuesday night, Neil, Sam and I climb into the big bed and crank up the laptop.

Sam's BFF, Noelle, will be celebrating her 5th birthday this weekend. The party is at JumpToons, which as you probably guessed, has jumpies/bouncies. Sam is so excited. He loves bouncing and he really loves Noelle.

He wanted to get her some special notecards b/c she loves "writing" little notes. So, instead I decided to make her some and we were very happy with the way they turned out. What do you think?

I enjoyed making them so much that I made some for myself! (I'm really into owls right now.) And, I think this just might be a new hobby for me...as if I need another.

Thank you to everyone who commented or emailed about Luke's "model shoot" last Saturday. It was at an amazingly fun place, so he was totally distracted, therefore not his sweet, smiley self. We did manage to get a couple cute shots, tho, and the contest will start tomorrow. I will post a link when it becomes available.

And, speaking of Luke...he recently added guacamole and lo mein to his list of foods. Love that international-food-eating-boy!

Sam is really loving school, and it's such a blessing to have a child wake up (early) and ready to go each morning. I think PE and Music are his favorite classes, but I just had to post this cute piece that he came up with in Art class.

He was told to make and animal out of the circle, and he drew Babar, complete with crown! (And, he was apparently trying to make gray from blue and purple, but it didn't work.) I just love it SO much.

Next week I am hosting a Xocai party, and I'm so excited! If you haven't heard about Xocai, you should. Feel free to email me, too, if you want more info. I love to talk about the healthy chocolate!

Have a fantastic weekend!

I Heart Faces

This week's theme at I Faces is "bubbles", and I think it's my favorite theme yet. Bubbles are as fun to photograph as they are to chase!

Here is Sam doing his thing...

We've had a busy couple of weeks. It's been a good-kind-of-busy, though!

Neil's brother Jeff came down from NY for a few days. Sam and Luke had a ball with their Uncle Jeffy...taking him to Tellus, swimming, playing Legos and showing off our great church. It was a fantastic last hurrah for the summer, and we miss him so much.

______________________________________________

Luke stuck a plastic lid into one of the intake vents for our A/C. Thankfully it isn't dangerous, so we can still use the air. (The heat index is well over 100 degrees in GA right now.) It scared me to death when I realized what happened, tho. I think I scared hm to death, too, so hopefully he won't do it again!

And, speaking of Luke...this weekend I'm taking him to a "model shoot" that two of my friends are hosting. He has such an easy personality that I think he will really enjoy it a lot. Plus, it's at a cool play place near our home.

______________________________________________

I mentioned a few weeks ago that Sam participated in the Super Summer Swap. He and Blake were paired up and it turned out to be a ton of fun.

We made an envelope scrapbook for Blake and sent him some Kennesaw related trinkets, like confederate money, an Indian arrowhead and "Grow Your Own Civil War".

Blake sent Sam a bunch of handpicked jelly beans, a pack of chili, some cool postcards and an album full of pictures. Sam was most impressed by Blake's 4-wheeler!

School has started and Sam already loves it. He was so excited to start Kindergarten, that he woke up extra early on Monday. He's even riding the bus! (I never thought I would let him do that.) And, we really love his teacher.

Two cute things that Sam said about his first day were:

1. "My Spanish teacher is nice, but she's not the greatest teacher in the world."
2. "I didn't talk to anyone in the cafeteria b/c I just wanted to enjoy my lunch."

He's such a fun kid!

I Heart Faces

This week at I Faces, the theme is "Silly Faces".

Luke had those lazy-baby-eyes for his first few months. This was not an intentional silly face, but I always chuckle when it comes up on my screen saver.

Friday "stuff"

I am so behind with blogging. It's all good, tho!

School starts for Sam on Monday. I know. We do it early in Georgia. (They also get out early, mid-May.) He seems to have a great teacher for Kindergarten and we already know 4 kids/families in his class. We are all excited!

Everyone in this house is well, and Uncle Jeff is visiting for our last BIG thing of the summer. It's really warm, so lots of time will be spent at the pool.

______________________________________

We have a couple more new members of the family! They are fiddler crabs and we named them Bob (the big one, "belongs" to Sam) and George (the small one, "belongs" to Luke). They have been so much fun this week. (Of course, they are really mine!)

I love the way they eat using that tiny claw! And, I spent a lot of time on-line getting the scoop on their needs.

______________________________________

Neil and I had a great "date night" last Saturday. Thank you to everyone that wished it upon us.

Our friends Matt and Beth hosted the party and they are coming over for dinner tomorrow night, as well. They are so great and we are looking forward to some more couple-time, tho the kids are all included! (Their daughter, Noelle, is actually in Sam's Kindergarten class.) No rain is in the forecast, so fire up the grill.

Macro Monday

This is my first time playing along with Lisa and the gang on Macro Monday. I'm just glad to have a reason to post this capture of sweet Luke's sandy hand!
