7/8/10

Fragments from the 4th

We had a wonderful holiday and pray that you did, too...if you were celebrating.

Mommy's Idea

The boys started off the day by making Shrinky Dinks.  Remember those?

They are still just as cool, tho I'm not 100% sure Luke was happy with what happened to his robot in the end.  I was.  And, they will go on the kids' Christmas tree come December!

We attended a surprise birthday party for a good friend...and by "surprise" I mean, his birthday was on February 4th and his party was on July 4th.  That's a surprise, huh!?!

The food was great, the conversation fun and the entertainment (4 small children) awesome.  All of that meant that I was snap-happy and wanted to share these captures of little Grace.

Isn't she a doll?  Luke is kinda smitten with her.

Then, as I mentioned last Friday, we had our big neighborhood "fireworks extravaganza".  It ended up being a cool'ish night (For July.  In Georgia.) and the show was beautiful...

As you can never tell with 2-year olds, Luke fell asleep 2 minutes into the explosions.  He slept soundly by the way, which still amazes me b/c it was LOUD.  My mom and Neil took turns holding him.  (I was holding my camera.)  And, he didn't even wake when we laid him in the wagon for the walk home.

So.  How'd you do?  Was the 4th too much for YOU???

Adorable pictures! Just saw that you live in Kennesaw. That's where my brother lives -- in Legacy Park. I keep hoping they'll move back to the Midwest, but they love it there. They said the fireworks were awesome.

What a cutie pie. And that Grace?! How do you keep from eating her up?! Glad you had a happy, safe 4th of July :)

Luke looks adorable and yes, I remember shrinky dinks. It made for a very easy craft and was fun!

Those are great fireworks pictures! I'd love to hear your secret to getting such neat shots.

I LOVED shrinky dinks! Can't wait until my son is old enough to appreciate their awesomeness.

Love that last shot. Wiped out from the festivities!!! We spent our 4th vacationing in Canada. My FF post is all about that! Happy FF.

Shrinky Dinks are way cool! I have forgotten about them. I will have to introduce them to my little ones!

Cute pics! I love one of him in the wagon, he must have been just pooped.

We stayed home for the 4th. My son, Brandon, is deaf in one ear and it was too loud for him last year, so we opted to stay home this year, and the kids could have cared less! LOL

I totally forgot about Shrinky Dinks. Must. Get. Some.

Uhm, can Luke come teach my kids to sleep through explosions like that? I've got light sleepers! My twins stopped sleeping in the car at around 3 months - right before their first road trip! Ugh!

I keep reading about shrinky dinks but they never get on the list of things to get when out at the craft store list. Those robots are so clever!
