Friday Frags #39

Mommy's Idea

Neil will be traveling A LOT the next 2 weeks, so we have a date-night planned for Saturday.  Ooh-la-la!  I so LOVE to go out to dinner, just the 2 of us.

How sweet are we?!? (In August of 2007...tee hee...)

**********

We have some job/home stuff going on and would love prayer for God's will!  No worries.  It's nothing but great, but we are still up-in-the-air with some of it, so prayer is our answer.  If you have any extra time, please throw one our way.

This was part of Sam's work this week (Kindergarten) and I really loved it.  1.)  It looks a lot like Sam's leg, which means that it looks a lot like my leg  2.)  He wanted to spare the ant

Love a compassionate (& "lean") boy!

(I would let him go because he will not bite you.  All he wants is food.)

Got a great award from my new blog friend, Mommy Wemmick.

It's the honest abe award and I have to tell 10 honest things about myself, so here goes...

1.  I have 4 (yes, 4) tattoos.  In fact, I just got the 4th a couple weeks ago, and yes.  It hurt.
2.  I wish my husband had some tattoos.
3.  I use "fixin" and "mash" way too often and totally wrong.
4.  I believe that salvation is The Way.
5.  I love marriage.  (My parents have been married 49 years and 6 months.)
6.  I believe I can do anything.
7.  I struggle with vanity.
8.  I worry about my boys much more than I care to admit.
9.  I LOVE eating olives and peanut butter straight from the jar.
10.  I need to get off the computer...right now.

Random.org chose #8 as the winner, which happens to be jewelknits!!

Don't ya just LOVE Etsy?!?  I know I do, and I found yet another amazing shop.  It's called Kathy Ruggiero Jewelry and the pieces are so unique.  In fact, I've never known of anyone else to do what Kathy does...crush flowers and crystals and wrap them in silver!  Check out these amazing earrings...

And, this necklace is just so cool...

Would YOU like to have something from Kathy to call your very own???  Yeah.  Me too!  Fortunately for you, Kathy is allowing me to giveaway a pair of her lovely earrings.  They are Green Aventurine & Pearl.  And, here they are...

All you have to do to enter the giveaway is visit Kathy, then come back here and leave a comment telling me what you think about her other items.  (I know you'll love them!)  That's it.  Oh, and if you follow me, you can have an additional entry.  Just be sure and leave a 2nd comment.

How easy is that???

Winner will be chosen randomly on May 4th.

The weather has been amazing here and it looks like the major pollen is over.  Bonus!

Still working on my refinishing projects...and in fact, I've added a couple more pieces.  Guess I really am a glutton for punishment.  I just know I'm going to love it all in the end, tho.

Plus, I'll end up saving a ton of money, which always makes me happy!

Just got the cutest camera strap.  Do you like it?

This week, iheartfaces.com is allowing collages!

Woohoo...I love collages so I had a lot to choose from.  This set of "Luke in his Auburn hat" is one of my absolute faves, tho...mainly because it ended up being a time-line for that shoot, too.

It started off great and he was all smiles, then he began to get bored and finally he went into the little baby scoot.  Love it!

Sunday in my city...

Sam and I just did something extra fun at a great local place.

Unknown Mami

We participated in a scavenger hunt at Smith-Gilbert Gardens in Kennesaw, GA.  (Sadly, these gardens are only about 5 minutes from our house and it took 5 years to check them out.)  Smith-Gilbert is so beautiful...and huge...and relaxing...and we'll go back soon.  Here's why...

My Job Chart

As a mom, I love help...especially when it when it comes from one of my boys.  So the site, My Job Chart totally rocks!  It has a ton of options and (best of all) it's 100% FREE!

You will love keeping track of your kids' progress with a customized online chore chart.  And, hopefully the kids will love it, too!  (Once they are old enough to use the internet, they can sign on and see their progress.  How cool is that?)

It's a sweet theme at iheartfaces.com this week.  Desserts!  I don't have many food-photos so I struggled and in the end chose this sweet capture from a party last winter.

That little snowman was a delicious cake made by a fellow mom.  Impressive, huh?!

LOVE the new Target slogan, not because I'm a "green" person, but because it's so darn clever...

Make Change
Save Green

(I do heart Target's reusable bags, by the way.)

I used some leftovers this week and came up with a tasty comfort-dish. Here it is:

1 cup rice
1/2 cup cooked chicken
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup

Just cook the rice, then add in every thing else and heat through. Creamy and delicious!

I'm on a BIG redecorate/reorganize the house kick. I honestly have so many ideas that I can't even keep it straight. Unfortunately, many of those ideas involve refinishing furniture. I'm up to the challenge. I just need the time.

I am planning to do some before and after photos once I get started! Stay tuned...

You know I love my cats...and they are pretty cool.  This, however, is really cool...

Spring break is ending and what a week it was. We had amazing weather, lots of laughs and delayed starts in the morning. What more could you want?!

There's only 6 more weeks of school here. The kids get out May 21st. (They go back August 2nd.) I'm excited to start a pool routine and sleep-in regularly. What about you???

Greater Love book review

Greater Love is the latest in Robert Whitlow's "Tides of Truth" series.

I really enjoyed this book, especially since it takes place in Georgia. I also love that this book is old-fashioned in many ways. The main character, Tami, is a lawyer who's very close to her family, has strong religious beliefs and is happily "courting" a boyfriend. All of those points make for a fun story.

If you enjoy mysteries that you can read in a weekend, this book is for you. I plan to check out Mr. Whitlow's other stories soon.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
