Tuesday Treasures

Don't'cha LOVE brown?  Me, too.  And, that's the 

theme at Paper Heart Camera this week.

I'm also using this one for "shadow" at Shutter Love Tuesday.

We celebrated Sam's birthday at the beginning of
January, but just had his actual party.  He chose
chocolate fondue for his celebration.  (He's never
been a simple cake and ice cream kinda kid!)

He really enjoyed it...

The actual party was at GAA, and everyone had a blast.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

(Luke found this nut on a recent walk and I thought it cool.)

(I didn't have any weather-related-fog, but I had this foggy 

window from our SUPER hot summer in GA.)

(A glass of Shiraz while cooking Italian wedding soup 

and grilled cheeses.  Yum!)

The Beginning Reader's Bible

I was so excited when I saw that BookSneeze was 

offering The Beginning Reader's Bible.

Sam (newly 7-years old) has really begun to read well, 

so I knew he would love the chance at actually reading 

the Bible.  (He's always been so fascinated with Moses!) 

And, when it arrived, he immediately opened to the 

1st page and began to read.

I have to say that I really LOVE the illustrations.  So, so 

beautiful.  And, the 26 different stories make it easy for 

a beginner reader.  Of course, only the main areas in the 

Bible are covered, but for children in this age range, 

it's really perfect!  There is also a great reference area 

in the back.  I 100% recommend this book.

We will use it many, many times in the coming years.

Happy Home

All of these (and more) make me smile often...

I love that our home is filled with laughter, comfort and praise.
I love that all 4 of us sit in the floor and play with Lego bricks for hours.
And, I really love that we say "I love you" out of the blue, A LOT...even Luke.
(Sooo cute!)

It's not perfect, but it is a happy home.

I can't leave out my sweet kitties!

Tuesday Treasures

It's been soooo cold here (in GA).  I know there are 

MANY of you that are colder, but we just aren't used 

to it, plus the sun has totally disappeared.  Sad...

I added a bit of texture to this capture for dramatic 

purposes.  (I'm kinda dramatic, tho I really like to 

think of it as passionate...and passion is good!)

We just LOVE to be outdoors, but the recent temps 

and wind and lack-of-sun make us want to stay in 

PJs and cuddle all day.  Still, we can keep ourselves 

entertained, most of the time....

Sam built an amazing "fort" in Luke's room.  It was 

surprisingly sturdy...and very comfy!  Not bad, huh?

It's great to be 7!

which equals this in my world...

My friend's 2-year old in awe of the birdbath.  Who knew
an inch of water could be so amazing!?
