Solitary is the first book in a new teen series by Travis Thrasher.
The main character, Chris, just moved with his mom to the small southern town
of Solitary, following his parents' divorce. Apparently, his mom grew up in
Solitary, but they quickly learn that much has changed there and outsiders
are not welcome. Many strange (and creepy) events occur throughout the
book, and tho it's a Christian-Thriller, it was a bit dark for my liking.
Still, I found it hard to put the book down and finished it in a couple days.
The characters were very likable, but I needed to remind myself that most of
them are only sixteen, as they seem much more mature. And, I liked the setting
for the story. Being from the south, it was very easy to picture the small,
rural town.
However, in the end (and after the HUGE build-up), I was left disappointed.
So many of the questions were left unanswered, but I'm not sure that I'm really
curious enough to read the next book in the series. Perhaps this is a serious
that is truly for teen readers.

I was provided this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
