It's been soooo cold here (in GA). I know there are
MANY of you that are colder, but we just aren't used
to it, plus the sun has totally disappeared. Sad...
I added a bit of texture to this capture for dramatic
purposes. (I'm kinda dramatic, tho I really like to
think of it as passionate...and passion is good!)
We just LOVE to be outdoors, but the recent temps
and wind and lack-of-sun make us want to stay in
PJs and cuddle all day. Still, we can keep ourselves
entertained, most of the time....
Sam built an amazing "fort" in Luke's room. It was
surprisingly sturdy...and very comfy! Not bad, huh?
It's great to be 7!

Kids and their forts are so much fun!
7 is a very fun age. I love the fort and the pretty flower. It was negative 3 today here. It made me very grumpy! : )
Ohmygoodness, it has been cold, but it was nice today - took the kids to the playground this afternoon, I think it got up to about 50 degrees. It was nice! Love that Peanuts pillowcase - what a fort!
Cute photos. Looks like so much fun.
These are all really great - I love the first image. You should enter it into the Mortal Muse flickr stream if you haven't already. I appreciate the inspiration. I need to work on my images. So little time.
You certainly managed to bring out the melancholy in me with that withering rose... ;-(
Forts = Fun!!
I love the Peanuts pillowcase!!
Great photos! And I hear ya on the cold...It's been bitter cold here too. I couldn't imagine living in the north right now. Looks like this weekend pretty weather is on the way.
Oh my..., that's just what my kids did last weekend. They had great fun...only thidying up
afterwards :-(. Great shots, especially the first one, love the processing!
My favorite is the last photo. He looks so proud! Enjoyed your post!
Your son is so cute (handsome)! Love the fort idea :-)
It is beyond cold where we live - I don't like being outside at all right now! YUCK!
Hugs for your day!
Jill
Cool fort. Your son is very cute.
Great fort! I know, winter really makes for some creative indoor fun, doesn't it??
Love the texture on the rose picture...I think it definitely describes winter perfectly.
I miss the days when my kids would make forts.
Came by from the Happiness Project.
I know how you feel about the cold. I am so ready for spring to get here.
Sam looks like he is having such a great time.
Wow...I LOVE your first shot. So great. And I'm ready for spring too!
love the flowers so simple with beauty.
Love the edit on the first shot-- and we have been doing the same thing at our house with forts!
Love the texture edit...gorgeous!
And, as you know ;D, I can sooo relate to wanting to stay indoors with pjs on all day! As for the sun...I'm expecting it to return sometime in April, or so...(although, we're up to almost 7 hours of daylight now!!...a vast improvement over the 4½ we get at the darkest time of the year, just before Christmas). Stay warm, my friend!
The first one is stunning!! Love the other shots too! I remember building forts when I was younger. I miss those days! xx
My kids were always great fort builders. They had a lot of fun playing together.
=)
Beautiful flower and overlay. And forts....what can I say...they rock!

We were doing the same thing a few weeks. We're lucky winter doesn't last long here! I like the added texture. I guess I'm dramatic too!
Love the fort- those always make an inside day more fun
great photos! your son is a very talented fort builder!!
it is currently 9 here (16" of snow on the ground and more on the way tomorrow night) but we expect that, in fact it's been a strangely warm and mostly snow free winter here in NH...My sister lives in Atlanta, so I feel for you guys down there!
Your rose is just beautiful...such a work of art!
A great series of happy photos! Little ones so love creating as well as playing in forts!
I love that fort!! Awesome! :)
Love your rose photo!
There's something about kids and forts. The happy smiling face is well worth it.

kids have amazing levels of creativity! handsome boy.
love your photo of the rise.:p
P.S. i didn't know it gets cold in Georgia!
Midweek Blues
I love the rose with the texture! Boys and forts go hand in hand. It has been very cold and overcast this winter for the South. I am ready for some warm weather and lots of sunshine!
Lots in common...kinda.
My daddy is from Georgia and we have family down there. I'm in Vermont where the cold lives when it's not visiting you :)
You have had some cold temps and a little snow {not sure in your specific area}...my Uncle shared some shots where he's at.
My oldest son's name is Sam ♥, my middle is Josh and my youngest is Lucien. Momma's to boys, definitely understand one another :)
Great and cute post you've shared. I'm visiting from Midweek Blues, today.
Your dramatic rose is pretty even dried and withered. Boys look like they are having fun.
Seems like the cold has everyone in a rut. Move to Florida!!
However, I am lovin' the fort. It brings back great memories.
BTW, did you get my email today?
Beautiful composition & texture work in the first image. Don't ever move to Chicago - it is horribly cold and icy here in the winter.
Cool fort!
Forts are the best!
LOVE the flower!!!
hours of entertainment!! =) We love forts!! very cozy indeed!! love the Charlie brown pillowcase...
