Imperfect

Luke loved looking for shells at the beach a few weeks ago.

The first day, he quickly realized that I was only looking for
the perfect, whole shells.  He said to me, "It's okay if they're
broken, Mommy.  The broken shells are beautiful, too."

And, he is so right.

His thought is so encouraging - just flowing from him naturally like that! Your photos are elegant. And that last shot of your little philosopher is precious!

Gorgeous finds! And the imperfect ones make the photos. They look interesting and different.

Awesome nature studies with the shells. These are my favorite types of photos - simple arrangements that are creative by virtue of lines and textures. And the last picture of your son looking through the shell is a treasure - curiosity makes for a bright mind!

What wisdom ... the imperfect can also be perfect for photography and very individual.

Kids are so wise sometimes! They see the world with wonder. These treasures are beautiful indeed.

Great insight from your son. I've noticed too that while we love the ones that shine on the outside, even the ugliest shine on the inside--we could go miles with that one. Great photos.

Wise kid! People waste time looking for the impossible perfection in things, while surrounded by beautiful imperfection! It's a wabi-sabi lesson!
Beautiful pictures!!

Just wonderful. The broken shells are beautiful and have their own character.

I hope your little one continues to see beauty in the imperfect. What a great thing for a young one to know.

Neat seashell finds, Dina.

Sweet Luke! He is so wise.
Have you read, A Gift From The Sea?
I just thought of it when I read this post. My most favorite book ever. I take it with me whenever I head to the beach...
