The New Vinatage Family by Drenda Keesee

I had the great opportunity to read and review The New Vintage Family by Drenda Keesee.

Is there anyone that doesn't love the image of a 1950's family...with a devoted dad working hard at his job

and in his home, happy, well-adjusted, respectful kids and a confident mom oozing joy over taking care of her family's every need?

This book explores the real possibilities of having that once again using these four building blocks:
Discipline, Love, Faith and Example

Of course, these principles differ greatly from what society believes is important.  Drenda reminds us that
God must be our main focus, and that prayer is a requirement.

This book was so refreshing and full of humorous stories that I really didn't want to put it down.  My favorite
section was Discipline.  That's such a controversial topic now...hard to even discuss with your closest friends.  It seems that everyone is an expert but really has no clue what he/she is doing.  (Me, either!)  I love Drenda's tips on establishing disciple and (most importantly) how to stick with it.
This book is geared towards families with children of any age, and even grandparents, too.  The questions throughout the book are something you can continually look back on no matter the season.  I really can't recommend it enough!

***I received a complimentary copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
The opinions expressed are my own and were not influenced in any manner.***

Sounds like the writer and I share some of the same beliefs about families and parenting. I'm glad she wrote a book!
