Johnny Appleseed's Birthday is September 26th! (He would be 236.)
This week, I was so happy to learn that there is so much love for vintage Pyrex
dishes. I have a huge collection that I dearly love, and when I posted a pic of a set of
my bowls, I got a ton of sweet comments and emails! Love it.
Do you know the book Stellaluna? It is so incredibly sweet. (We also dearly
love Crickwing by the same author, Janell Cannon.) And, Sam's class recently
paid homage to sweet, sweet Stellaluna. It warmed my heart, so I thought I would
share his work...
"Stellaluna hung frum her fums insted of her feet."
"How can we be so different and feel so much alike?" one asks. "And how can we
feel so different and be so much alike?" asks another. "I agree," Stellaluna responds.
"But we're friends. And that's a fact."

I pray your post-9/11 week was blessed. See more fragments HERE.

I love his Stellaluna art!! We love that book too... though we are getting too old for it now! ;)
I LOVE Stellaluna.
And your Pyrex. ;o)
Beautiful art. I'm not familiar with that book, but I'll have to check it out.
I might have to join in on the alphabet photo challenge. Sounds like great fun!
Have a great weekend!
I think the vintage Pyrex has so much more personality than the stuff they make now. Love the bowls.
I'm not familiar with that book...but I don't have kids - that's my excuse. Or maybe I remember it from when I was a child.
you have a great artist on your hands. Wow I love that picture and I love that story.
used to love teaching the kids about Johnny Appleseed when I taught kindergarten.
Thanks for the recipe too. Sounds great.
I love Stellaluna and the picture is precious!
Your fall pictures are beautiful!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for visiting my blog! I like yours, it's nice here, and I'll be back. I have a son named Sam too. I've seen that book "Stellaluna" and now I'd definitely like to get it. Have a nice weekend!
Yea for Pyrex! Happy birthday to Johnny Appleseed!
Stopping by from Friday Fragments.
Awww..I love the drawing! So cute!!
Oh I miss apple picking... it's one of the things I miss about living up north. When I was pregnant with The Boy Child, I was sent home for work due to high blood pressure and stubbornly insisted on stopping by the apple orchard on the way home... I was planning on it and that little baby wasn't going to stop me!
aww, "friends and that's a fact" indeed!
Love Sam's heart-art work (smile)!
Love ya!
My niece is named Stella, so that book has made it into her personal library. I don't think I've read it though. Johnny Appleseed has been around for over 200 years. That's a lot of apples!
