oh can I be honest here and I say I am so completely jealous! My Barbie collection was given away as soon as I moved away to college - WITHOUT my permission! Is it sad that I totally want to call the gal that my stuff was given to and ask for it back!?
I believed in Barbie and loved mine to the inth degree so you can only imagine my inflated expectation when my daughter wanted nothing to do with Barbies. She would sit them on a shelf and there they would stay ... at least until her little brother could get to them.
How awesome! I was such a Barbie girl. But when I got to be "too old" I gave them all away. I wish I had kept them. Now, I have told my kids that they cannot give away their My Little Pony collection, or the Thomas or Legos. Some things should be saved.
I once was the attorney for someone who had a large Barbie collection from childhood. Her husband tried to claim half the collection. As you can imagine, it was a pretty nasty divorce.
Wow, you had a lot of Barbie dolls! I had only one *imitation* of a Barbie but I still called it a Barbie. :) Now there are plenty of them here in Romania.
I like the childlike faces of the old dolls, they don't make them like that anymore. They improved the bodies though, now they don't look THAT anorexic. :))
I had a massive Barbie collection when I was young, too! Believe it or not, even though I had 3 younger sisters and a younger brother, my mom STILL has some of those Barbies and the clothes that she made for them when I was little! She keeps them as Grandma toys. :)
Oh what a lot of clothes!!! I make clothes for my Barbie and it is a lot of fun! I had paperdolls when I was young. I've graduated to Barbie now that I am 57 years old! LOL Patsy from HeARTworks

I have to say that I did a double-take when I saw the dolls in your thumbnail. I thought you might have an exciting announcement for us. ;p
My mom brought over my dolls for Z, too, and she promptly broke off one arm off one of them!
believe it or not ... i never had a Barbie! perhaps that's what i should get for Christmas?!!!! fun shots.
My sister and I had a huge collection and made our own clothes! We saved SO many childhood toys, not sure if these made the "save" cut.

That's quite a collection, and I love that your parents saved them!
