Fragmented Freewrite #8

I am really focusing on "seasons of change" right now to explain my life.

_______________________

My men had a nice Labor Day weekend. Sam and Neil participated in a Father-Son-Fishing-Derby. Sam (proudly) caught 7 fish! (He even won a prize.)

My extended family always has a picnic-style gathering for Labor Day. The boys loved the food and the tractor! I was unable to attend b/c of kitty care, but Neil took some great photos. Here they are with their cousin, Ashley...

I really love this time of year. Don't you?

The temp is cooler (especially in the mornings), the fair is coming in a couple weeks and sports are in full-swing!

I'm already itching to bring out my Halloween/harvest decorations.

And, finally...

As a lot of you know, our "little" cat, Abby, had to have emergency surgery last week. She is doing amazingly well now, but the pathology did show that it was cancerous so Chemo is in her near future.

The saddest part of all is that out-of-the-blue, our "big" cat, Aja, became sick. When we took her in on Saturday they found that she was in total renal failure. (COMPLETE SHOCK) We had to let her go b/c the prognosis was that she'd have to stay connected to IV fluids for the rest of her life. I raised her from a kitten and knew that wasn't a life for her.

She was only 9 years old, a (BEAUTIFUL) purebred Ragdoll and my loving friend. I will forever miss her.

I love the fall. I look forward to it for so many reasons. I love the colors, the chill in the air, the smells, the foods, the holidays, etc.

I am so sorry about your kitties. I am sorry for your loss and pray that Abby does well with chemo. 9 years old is such a short life, I am glad it was spent being loved by a beautiful family (yours).

So sorry for the loss of your cat. We experienced that earlier this year. I also pray for your other cat's health.

Love to you and your family. Enjoyed the family photos.

7 fish is a lot of fish!! Our family caught 0 fish this summer :(

I'm sorry about the kitties. Pets are precious and it surely does hurt when they are sick or worse.

Ohhhh! I'm so sorry about your beautiful Aja! You did the humane thing, but it still sucks and hurts. ((HUGZ!!)) I'm glad that Abby's doing great, hopefully she'll do fine with the chemo.

Way to go Sam! 7 fish is quite impressive!! :) Love all the pics!

This is my favorite time of year, too - I've been resisting the urge to decorate for fall early - Mother Nature is 'helping' me hold off with the cold rain she sent today, but I'm guessing I'll be decorating much earlier this year than last year, because I love this time of year so much! :)

Ooooh! Thanks for the Aveda link - I'm off to sign up! :)

Happy FF!

My mom took her Persian cat into the vet because she wasn't eating well and had the same thing, complete failure. It's so sad when there really is no warning that it's so severe. Giant big hugs to you.

So sorry to hear about your cat! That is so sad! But I'm glad to hear that your other kitty is doing better.

I love this time of year primarily because of the weather. I don't get into decorating...maybe I will if we have kids in the future but I hate taking down decorations! haha!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful kitty! I hope your other cat gets better soon. We have two cats and it would be hard if one of them got sick.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your kitty; she was beautiful. We have always admired ragdolls around here. Although we are no longer needing a litterbox, I wouldn't be surprised to find another one in our future....

Thanks for the link!

Those pics are AWESOME :) Thanks for playing FF this week :)
