All about JumpStart...including a giveaway!

****CLOSED***CLOSED***CLOSED****

Winner is #7, Susan!

I've mentioned several times that we LOVE all-things
JumpStart.  The boys have a lifetime membership to
the on-line game, and for the last 2 years, Sam has
played it 4-5 times every week.  He loves that they
continually change/update the game.  There's truly no
way for kids to get bored with it all.

Well, recently we had the opportunity to try out the Wii
game, "Escape from Adventure Island."  Sam was so
excited to receive the game...and share it with Luke.
(Luke really enjoys watching Sam play JumpStart on
our PC.)  The Wii game had a lot of similarities to the
free downloads you get when you join JumpStart, so
it was super easy for my 7-year old to just jump in
and enjoy, which I liked.  :)

This game has been in our Wii console consistantly
for the last 6-weeks, so I think it's safe to say it's a
winner!  We totally recommend it for kids ages 5
to 9, and for the younger ones that like watching
big brother/sister play on the Wii.

Here are some of the key points to the game...

  • A magical 3D learning environment packed with games, adventures and hidden surprises.
  • Seamlessly integrated learning games that encourage players to practice math, reading and critical thinking skills to earn virtual rewards.
  • Wii Remote™ technology that allows players to run, jump, fly, swim, roll and dance.
  • The chance to express yourself while selecting the perfect avatar outfit, hair, features and more!

We also had the chance to try out MathBlaster.com...

There are many places to explore once you launch the math game, most of which
function similarly to arcade games. Some of the main highlights are the Academy,
Red Alert, and Ready Room. The Academy is where Cadets build their math
skills by undergoing Blaster Cadet Training and mastering hundreds of math
lessons including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and
many more! Some highlights of the Academy are: HyperCycle Training, Zapper
Turret Training, Alien Wrangler, and Bolt Cruncher. Lastly, Cadets can visit
the Ready Room to watch featured movies and learn the history of Math Blaster.

Sam has truly enjoyed this game (and it's now
conveniently part of the JumpStart membership)
and plays it very often.  He loves the graphics
and was very happy to design a cadet, which is
different from the JumpStart jumpies.  His
favorite "game" is Oozami, where players jump
from platform to platform to find the correct
answer for each math problem...

I love that, like JumpStart, he can play this
100% alone, tho he does like to show me some
of the games.  And, also like JumpStart, this
game is constantly updated/modified, so that
boredom is not an option.

And, now for the GIVEAWAY...

I'm giving away a 6-month membership to MathBlaster.com,
which includes access to JumpStart.com, and several free
game downloads!  All you have to do is leave a comment
below telling me why you'd love to win.  (If you're a follower
leave a second comment for an extra entry.)  Then, I'll
choose a random winner at 9PM on April 23rd.

***I was provided the JumpStart Wii game and a membership to MathBlaster.com free
of charge, in exchange for an honest review of the products.  My opinion is my own and
was not influenced in any manner.***
