Mid-Week Winners

A few recent favorites from...

New Year's Eve!

The 31st was a beautiful day, with temps in the 60's.  We
spent much of the evening in our backyard.  Sam wanted
to roast marshmallows, but all we had in the pantry were the
tiny ones for cocoa.  The boys made the best of it, tho...

 Sam's big day!

We have Sam's "real" party coming up in a few weeks, so he
chose pancakes as his birthday meal for Monday.  And, what
better place than IHOP?  I was so amazed at how grown-up
he is now.  Definitely bittersweet for this mom.

Then, we went home to try out a gift...the rubber-band shooter!

The shooter was a ton of fun, but Luke was a bit gun-shy...

Photobucket

And, finally...we had another stink-bug visit...

This guy's legs were easily 2-inches long, and his shell was metallic.

Roasting tiny marshmallows made me laugh.

Last Christmas we found a couple of stink bugs in our Christmas decorations. This past summer we were swarmed. There were hundreds of thousands; they swarmed our doors and flew inside whenever we or the children opened the door. We still find a couple here and there. I know there are many more in our attic, because I found several in our Christmas stuff. They could be a precursor to many more showing up at your house when it gets warm. :0(
