The whole "go to school in August" thing is something this northerner will never quite get used to. As many years as I've seen bloggers sending their kids off in August it still kind of shocks me! When my kids were in elementary school we lived in France - and they'd go til the end of June and then July and August were full on summer months...with lots more vacations in the school year itself. So fun to see the new shoes, the smiles and to feel the excitement of new beginnings!
They are both so handsome! Sam has grown so tall, I can hardly believe it. I love Luke's new shoes. I hope that they both had an amazing first day of school. xo
Yikes...is it school time ALREADY??? We don't go back til after Labor Day around here...but then again, we get out later than you do too. Such a fun time, full of excitement and new beginnings. Wishing you a successful and happy school year!
Ah great memories to record, In the UK schools have really only just broken up, they go back to school in early September. Hope their first day back was OK...
I guess school starts here in three weeks....I've been retired from teaching for 12 years, so don't keep up with school calendars any longer. First day of a school year is always full of emotion but soon the daily schedule takes over, doesn't it? Wonderful portraits of your two handsome sons.
They look so cute. I was much like Luke with the first day jitters. I was always so excited, but my stomach would also be in knots. Hope their first two days have been successful.
Back already?! Wow, that was a fast summer, but they look ready! Love their new shoes and backpacks. All set for a new year of adventures and learning :)
They're so handsome! And great shoes - too. New shoes are my favorite thing about back to school. We have some worn out smelly teenager ones that are begging to be thrown out in the coming month. ;)

In Oregon, school starts back up after Labor Day. You have such handsome sons, and there's nothing like new back to school clothes and shoes!

I remember those back to school the first day times.
Somewhat bittersweet.

Wonderful series opf photos. Love the one with Luke from the back with his book bag. Great.
Sweet shots! :)
Wow, your boys have grown so much!
School for my kids don't start until week after next, so we still have 1+ week to enjoy the summer.
They're so handsome!

Oh, how I miss the first day of school photo op. The anticipation on their faces (and maybe ambivalence in their body language!). ~May
Boy, that's early.
They look ready, though...and super cute. Great shoes, as well.
